HIKE IN STATE PARK
Walk in the Sand – Scenic Highway 30A, Grayton Beach
Grayton Beach is an area that has something for everyone with an active art community, local shops, restaurants, brewery. This beach area includes one of Florida’s best state parks with miles of dune beaches and campgrounds. There are dune walking trails that allow you to hike through the dune habitat.
Hiking at the Hobbit Hole
A favorite spot from my past visit to this beach is the hobbit hole. At least that’s what we called it. Following the trail in Grayton Beach State Park up into the dunes is a spot that feels like a hobbit hole.
The Coastal Dune Lake
The trail leads to one of the areas unique coastal dune lakes and if you are there at the right time, you will see the lake connecting with the gulf waters. It is a very interesting spot.
The Beach
The main access point on Grayton Beach runs along the beach side of the huge beautiful natural dunes.
